Andrew McDonald, Martin Rapley and Jerry Alexander
Andrew has been a commercial property agent for 28 years, working with some of the most well-known property consultancies in the West End of London. He spent the first half of his career as a retail occupational consultant, advising retailers on acquiring trading space, assisting landlords in securing tenants and providing advice to developers on new shopping centres and major high street regeneration schemes.
He spent the latter half of his corporate career as a commercial investment consultant, advising large property companies, HNWIs and pension funds on the sale and acquisition of town centre retail and leisure property.
Andrew left the corporate world in 2020 to set up his own commercial agency (Tandem Real Estate) and his property development and asset management company (TheCredo.Group). He also consults at the prop tech platform, Oparo.
Jerry started out in a similar fashion to lots of private investors with a residential buy, refurb, rent & refinance strategy, before buying his first Commercial property. Then came the light bulb moment and Commercial became a full-time focus.
After 20 years in the industry Jerry and his team have a portfolio consisting mainly of CMO (Commercial Multiple occupancy) properties incorporating offices, industrial, self storage, coworking and venue spaces.
Originally working as a Contractors Quantity Surveyor. He then moved into Project Management. Martin first brought his skills to the world of property investing in 2012. This was a time when he was running a construction company and by coincidence most of his clients were property investors. He realised that he had skills that most investors didn’t and also realised that he could help those investors deliver much more profitable projects if he worked with them as a consultant. In 2013 he wound up his construction company to become a consultant Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor and is involved in multiple schemes around the South East.
Through training with PIN he learned more about property investing and now has a portfolio of HMOs and flats in Kent. Following continual requests from investors he started teaching his processes for managing refurbishment projects and has a community of over 200 investors that have regular access to him for support.
In his talk at Central London Property Network Martin will be sharing with us a case study of a large HMO refurbishment he recently completed in Kent. There were continual twists and turns in the project and Martin will be sharing everything with us, good and bad.
