Bio:

Alex Hurn, Co-Founder of Sillence Hurn (Chartered Surveyors)

Alex has a passion for Project Management and Contract Administration as well as offering commercial building surveying duties to clients. Prior to founding Sillence Hurn Building Consultancy, Alex was a senior member of the Building Surveying team at a multi-disciplinary cnsultancy in Hampshire.

Daryl Norkett, Relationship Director at LendWell

Daryl has worked in commercial banking and specialist lending for 10 years, most recently shaping the specialist property lending proposition at Shawbrook Bank as Head of Products & Markets, covering the Specialist BTL, Commercial and Short-Term markets. Prior to this, Daryl worked as a Regional Development Manager for Shawbrook after starting out as a Relationship Manager at Barclays following graduation from University in 2009. Having gained well rounded expertise in property lending, Daryl most enjoys working closely with clients to smoothly deliver funding for their property business.

Kirsty Darkins

Commercial property investment is often overlooked by private investors but building a commercial portfolio to hold is one of the most profitable, hands off investment strategies when you understand how. Kirsty has 20 years experience as a Commercial Surveyor. Kirsty has considerable experience in high street, shopping centre, mixed use and in-house estate management for both landlords/developers and occupiers. Kirsty has worked with property owners, institutional funds, investors, retailers and independents with regional and national UK property interests and portfolios.

Suzi Carter

Suzi is a Chartered Surveyor with 25 years’ experience in the commercial property sector. She has worked for some of the UK’s largest property and development companies and agents including CBRE, B&Q and Chartwell Land. Suzi’s last role in the corporate world was as a Director at Land Sec PLC, the UK’s largest property company and REIT, responsible for a shopping centre portfolio of over £2.7bn.

Suzi left the corporate world in 2015 in order to set up her property investment company – Strongoak Investments Limited – and is now investing in both residential and commercial property. She also does consultancy work for both developer and investor clients in the commercial property sector.

The panel is chaired by Aaron Yahaya.

Sam Norris, Senior Finance Broker at Bond Finance

Sam is a broker with over 12 years’ experience in the industry. As the son of a builder, Sam sees projects from both sides of the fence, having also completed development projects himself. His experience is primarily with specialist BTL, HMO and serviced accommodation mortgages, Bridging finance and Development finance, as well as commercial mortgages. Sam does not work with clients on a transactional basis, but works with his clients long term to develop a finance strategy that compliments their property plans, drawing on his years of experience working with, and helping property professionals grow their portfolios, to give a comprehensive and holistic advice service.
