Alex Hurn

Alex has a passion for project management and contract administration as well as offering commercial building surveying duties to clients. Alex has experience in project delivery across all sectors, most notably commercial, laboratory, retail and residential. Alex graduated from the University of the West of England with a BSc (Hons) Building Surveying and has also qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a Chartered Building Surveyor. Prior to founding Sillence Hurn, Alex was a senior member of the building surveying team at a multi-disciplinary consultancy in Hampshire. Alex has a keen interest in entrepreneurship and can be found attending or occasionally speaking at a range of local and commercial property investment events. Alex also sits on the RICS Matrics Hampshire & IOW Committee having previously served as chairman. Outside of work you can find Alex on and off of the fairway, battling to keep that single figure handicap.

Andrew McDonald

Experienced property consultant with over 25 years in the UK property market. During this time Andrew has held senior positions at some of the UK’s premier property consultancies building up a wealth of experience in sourcing, analysing, brokering and asset managing an eclectic mix of property investments and developments including: high street retail; shopping centres; retail warehouses; offices; residential ‘blocks’ and leisure developments. He has also acted for a variety of institutional and property companies advising on developments and leasing vacant commercial property across the UK with rents from £10,000 to over £1,000,000 per annum. This background has provided a significant amount of industry contacts and a range of clients from major property companies, pension funds and high net worth individuals. Clients include: Aberdeen Standard, M&G, AEW Europe, La Salle IM, Columbia Threadneedle, Redevco, DTZ IM, Transformer Properties, BOXPARK.

Suzi Carter

Suzi Carter is a Chartered Surveyor with 25 years’ experience in the commercial property sector. She has worked for some of the UK’s largest property and development companies and agents including CBRE, B&Q and Chartwell Land. Suzi’s last role in the corporate world was as a Director at Land Sec PLC, the UK’s largest property company and REIT, responsible for a shopping centre portfolio of over £2.7bn. Suzi left the corporate world in 2015 in order to set up her property investment company – Strongoak Investments Limited – and is now investing in both residential and commercial property. She also does consultancy work for both developer and investor clients in the commercial property sector. In 2018 she set up her property education business – Strongoak Education – in order to educate investors in commercial property so that they can gain the confidence and specialist knowledge to invest.
